The Most-Fashionable Soccer Fans Are in New York

While the World Cup wrapped up in Brazil this weekend, New York–based soccer and fashion enthusiasts headed over to Brooklyn Bridge Park for the 13th annual Adidas Fanatic tournament — in which 28 teams from New York’s creative industries (including Acne Studios, Opening Ceremony, and Barneys) played each other in soccer (wearing self-designed uniforms, of course). This year’s spectators sported their fútbol finest: Hanne Gaby Odiele showed up to cheer in boyfriend jeans and decorative shin guards, while Tao Okamoto paired a soccer jersey with a maxiskirt for a casual fangirl look. Others sported an impressive array of bucket hats, Sambas, Adidas slides, sports bands, and braids.
