Before there was Lucy Lawless and Xena: Warrior Princess, there was Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, starring Kevin Sorbo. Sorbo hasn’t been flying high post-Hercules, and can often be seen appearing as himself in the service of 90s nostalgia. Most recently, at the film premiere of Alongside Night, a low-budget B-movie, he was asked if he was excited about Dwayne “the Rock†Johnson’s upcoming Hercules movie. Nope! “We were sort of taken aback that they wouldn’t let me in that movie. Not even to do a cameo. I think it’s kind of stupid, really,†Sorbo told Dish Nation. “We approached the director [Brett Ratner]. I don’t know what his reasons are. I don’t know if it was political or ego or what it is? But to not put me in for a stupid little cameo? The audience would have loved it.â€Â
Apparently, that wasn’t the only slight he’s suffered. He thought he was going to be in the second Expendables movie, too. “They told me they were going to put me in Expendables 2, and they never did. Maybe I’m too tall for that cast, I don’t know.†He added, though, that he would be “honored†to make an appearance in the third installment. Man, this guy just can’t catch a break, can he?
