Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy showed off its stamina this weekend, retaking the box office three weeks after its release. Its $17.6 million haul this weekend is comparatively smaller than its $94 million debut, but no less impressive, and brings its domestic total to $251.9 million. It will soon be the top-grossing film this year. Two-time box-office winner Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles narrowly edged out the weepy teen drama If I Stay with $16.8 million to its $16.4 million. Let’s Be Cops came in at fourth with $11 million, and the high school football drama When the Game Stands Tall rounded out the top five with $9 million. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For bombed with a paltry $6.5 million to come in eighth. But whatever, this weekend proved what we all already knew: This is the summer of Chris Pratt (okay, maybe Groot).
