Cinderella man Paul Giamatti has joined the cast of the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, as the group’s controversial manager Jerry Heller. The cast includes Jason Mitchell as Eazy-E and Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre. Starting in the late ’60s, Heller was managing the U.S. tours of Elton John and Pink Floyd, but his heyday would begin in 1987, when Heller joined up with Eazy-E to form Ruthless Records, which was essentially a vehicle for N.W.A. While he was managing the group when they released their inflammatory, paradigm-shifting album Straight Outta Compton (with its controversial track “Fuck tha Policeâ€), he was also accused of leading to the group’s breakup and cheating the rappers out of their money. The question is whether the movie will bring the beef or not. The film is set to drop in August of 2015.
