In The Age of Adaline, Blake Lively plays a woman who mysteriously stops aging after getting into a car accident. Improbable, yes, but no more implausible an explanation for one’s lack of aging than black holes or stubbornness. The movie was originally planned as a Katherine Heigl vehicle back in 2010, but now it’s so mid-2010s that Daario 2 from Game of Thrones shows up as the male lead. Ellen Burstyn is Lively’s daughter, making this the second movie recently where Burstyn’s played the aging child of a parent who doesn’t age. Weird niche!
