Amy Schumer, Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Lawrence, and More Reportedly Want in on the ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot

One of the newer finds in the recently leaked Sony documents is an update on the in-the-works Ghostbusters reboot by Paul Feig. According to The Wrap, an October 8 email exchange between Ivan Reitman and Sony exec Amy Pascal reveals some of the actors who have already expressed interest in starring in Feig’s all-women reboot:

Agree that everyone is way too nervous about how this issue and how we. present it but it’s isn’t a sequel to the 80s movies and it is gonna be totally original with completely different characters and our job is to find a clever way to connect the movie to the original franchise so that we can use all the assets and everything that is great about the original franchise [sic]. Paul’s movie is gonna be the first one and from what I’m hearing jennifer lawrence and Emma stone and Melissa McCarthy and Amy schumer and liszzy [Lizzy] Kaplan just to name a few have already said thy wanted to be in….

Jennifer Lawrence recently confirmed that she met with Feig to talk about the movie, and earlier this week, Rebel Wilson revealed on the Today show that she met with Feig too: “I have had a meeting, but who knows, who knows. I’d do it for free. I probably shouldn’t say that on live TV.†Like any other Ghostbusters film update this should all be taken with a grain of salt, but it’s still an interesting glimpse into the women Feig and Sony have in mind should the movie make it to theaters.
