The L.A. County District Attorney’s office has declined to charge Bill Cosby with any child sex-abuse crimes tied to Judy Huth’s Playboy Mansion allegations, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday. Huth filed a civil suit and a police report earlier in the month claiming the comedian molested her there in 1974, when she was 15 years old. Prosecutors ultimately rejected the case because it was too far past the statute of limitations (which was three years at the time of alleged incident).
Despite staying mum for much of the recent sexual-allegation fallout, Cosby and his lawyers have begun to fire back at some of the claims — especially Huth’s. Cosby and his team filed a notice of demurrer almost two weeks ago to extinguish Huth’s lawsuit and to levy monetary sanctions against her. Cosby’s support system has also become more vocal as of late, with his wife issuing a defensive statement and his daughter Evin propping him up earlier Wednesday. “He is the FATHER you thought you knew,†she said. “The Cosby Show was my today’s TV reality show. Thank you. That’s all I would like to say.â€
