According to the New York Post’s “Page Six,†Bill Cosby hired private investigators to look into the lives of the women who have accused him of sexual assault. An anonymous source told the Post that during a meeting with his legal and public relations team, Cosby insisted, “If you’re going to say to the world that I did this to you, then the world needs to know, What kind of person are you? Who is this person that’s saying it?â€
Speaking about model Beverly Johnson, who recently accused Cosby of drugging her in the mid ‘80s, the comedian supposedly said, “You can’t say that I put something in your coffee, threw you in a cab and then you go on and live a high-profile life, a famous life and you never complain.â€
It’s not really clear how much “dirt†Cosby’s team has managed to dig up. Here’s what the Post says it’s got so far: Johnson never told her exes about her Cosby incident, and another accuser Katherine McKee publicly praised the comedian before coming out against him. Cosby’s attorney Martin Singer refused to address questions about the hiring of private eyes, but he did say, “You [the media] don’t need private investigators to find out information about the accusers. A simple Google search will obtain the information.†If that’s true, then it sounds like someone is wasting his money.
