Saturday at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, Fox confirmed that the network hopes to reboot The X Files the way it did with 24. The follow-up would star the original duo, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. So far they’ve just been talking logistics and trying to match up everyone’s schedules. The actors both have commitments to other shows, with Anderson who was upped to series regular NBC’s Hannibal (and likely another season of The Fall) and Duchovny also starring in the peacock network’s show Aquarius. According to Deadline, creator Chris Carter hinted that the show might return in the summer. Hope is out there, X-philes.
