The New Star Wars Fight Scenes Will Be Even Cooler Than We Hoped

We just got approximately 17 percent more excited for the fight scenes in the new Star Wars movie: Deadline reports that Indonesian actor Iko Uwais, who starred in both The Raid and The Raid 2, has joined J.J. Abrams’s The Force Awakens, alongside his onscreen opponents Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman. All three practice the Indonesian martial art of pencak silat, and Uwais and Ruhian were also responsible for choreographing the amazing fight scenes in the Raid movies; if we’re lucky, they threw a few suggestions Abrams’s way. To get a taste of why we’re so thrilled by this news, here’s a video of Uwais and Rahman fighting in The Raid 2. If they’re this awesome with fists, just picture them with lightsabers.
