Variety reports that Prisoners and Enemy helmer Denis Villeneuve is in negotiations to direct the second Blade Runner movie. The sequel, written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, reportedly takes place several decades after its predecessor. No other plot details have been made available. But for what it’s worth, the script is apparently the best thing Harrison Ford has ever read, which in itself might be the best thing ever because he’s notoriously said he had no idea what was going on in the first movie. Regardless, Ford will be back as Rick Deckard, whether the whole replicant thing makes sense or not.
