Kanye West wasn’t the only person surprised by Beck’s Album of the Year Grammy. Speaking to Vulture at Universal Music’s Grammys after-party, Beck himself admitted that he did not think he was going to win. Turns out that, like us, he “absolutely†thought Beyoncé’s Beyoncé was going to take home the prize. And, he sort of added, she probably should have. “Obviously, I don’t believe [Morning Phase was the most important album of the year],†he told us. “I sincerely believe that the artists in that category are formidable, and they all do things that I could never do. Even in a hundred years, I could never do what Beyoncé or Pharrell [do] … I don’t put it over what they did.â€
