You come for one sister of the traveling pants, you come for them all. Blake Lively’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars issued a joint statement on social media supporting Lively in her It Ends With Us lawsuit. On Instagram America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel wrote that they “stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign waged to destroy her reputation.†Lively is suing her director/co-star Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, crisis PR team The Agency Group, Melissa Nathan, and others for sexual harassment, retaliation, and more. The complaint alleges that Baldoni harassed Lively on the set of It Ends With Us, then hired a crisis PR firm to launch a smear campaign against her.
Ferrera, Tamblyn, and Bledel worked with Lively on both Sisterhood films and have remained close with her ever since. “Throughout the filming of It Ends with Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set,†they wrote, “and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice.†The Sisterhood fam specifically called out what they saw as the hypocrisy of Baldoni positioning himself as a feminist ally. “Most upsetting is the unabashed exploitation of domestic violence survivors’ stories to silence a woman who asked for safety,†they wrote. “The hypocrisy is astounding.†Baldoni has denied Lively’s claims through his lawyer, Bryan Freedman.
