In an effort to quash rumors and speculation, Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams tweeted Sunday that she will not assume hosting duties for Jon Stewart’s satirical news show. After Stewart announced his eventual retirement from The Daily Show last week, some (including us) wondered if Williams would be nabbing a promotion. (She also appears as Stewart’s successor in a hilarious, but apparently purely coincidental, clip from Hot Tub Time Machine 2.)
To the dismay of fans, a very humble Williams said:
Okay, good. Do that.
