Trevor Noah Named the Next Host of ‘The Daily Show’

The next host of The Daily Show has been chosen. According to The New York Times, South African standup and current Daily Show contributor Trevor Noah has officially been named the next Daily Show host and will take over for Jon Stewart when he leaves sometime this year. “I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor,†Stewart said in a statement. “He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve loved working with.†Noah made his Daily Show debut in November and has appeared on the show three times. “We talked to women. We talked to men. We found in Trevor the best person for the job,†Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless said on the decision. “You don’t hope to find the next Jon Stewart – there is no next Jon Stewart.
