HBO Renews ‘Veep’ and ‘Silicon Valley’

HBO is doubling down on its hit comedies. The pay network announced today that it’s renewed Silicon Valley and Veep for their third and fifth seasons, respectively. Both shows kicked off their latest seasons on HBO last night. Veep creator Armando Iannucci will leave at the end of this season, and former Curb Your Enthusiasm director/executive producer David Mandel has signed on to replace him next year. “Veep and Silicon Valley are terrific series, and I’m immensely proud that they will return to HBO next year,†said HBO’s Michael Lombardo on the news. “Along with Game of Thrones and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, both of which have already been renewed for 2016, they give HBO a stellar Sunday night like no other.†For more on both series, check out our review of Veep’s fantastic new season and our interview with Silicon Valley star Zach Woods from last week.
