See Cool Vintage Nike Women’s Ads Through the Ages
The first-ever women’s Olympic marathon in the 1984 Games inspired Nike’s famous “Be as tough as she is” ads. In 1999, Mia Hamm and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team appeared in the famous “Girl in America” ads after they won the World Cup title, and then there’s the famous “Girl in America” ad, where Jon Hamm reads: “There is a girl being born in America. Someone will give her a doll. Someone will give her a ball. And someone will give her a chance.” Nike’s women’s division has unveiled many famous ads over the years — and now, in celebration of its biggest women’s campaign yet (titled #betterforit), inspiring women everywhere to get out and reach for their fitness goals, the company has just released some of its best female-focused advertisements of all time.
