In the X-Men movie universe, Sir Patrick Stewart plays Charles Xavier, a brilliant telepathic mutant. Sometimes James McAvoy plays a young Patrick Stewart, as is the case with Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set in 1983, two decades before Singer’s first X-Men film. But there’s one important difference between Sir Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy: The former is very bald, while the latter is very not-bald. Since McAvoy is slowly becoming Patrick Stewart (in the movie universe, I mean), it was inevitable that McAvoy would one day have to go bald, too. It appears that day has finally come: In a picture Singer posted to Instagram, McAvoy is sitting in a chair, devoid of hair, while a man with a razor admires his handiwork. McAvoy looks to be deep in thought, possibly getting into character, or possibly just missing his mane.
