For its “innovations of form and its compelling, drilling account of how guilt, truth, and reality are decided,� “Serial� became the first-ever podcast to win a Peabody Award this year. At the Peabody awards gala on May 31, presenter Cecily Strong decided to honor the achievement the best way she could: by bringing back her brilliant Sarah Koenig impression from last season’s SNL. You remember that parody — it’s the one where Cecily, who everyone says is such a nice person, a person they couldn’t imagine making fun of anyone, does a brutal imitation of Koenig’s distinctive cadence. The Peabody Awards air on Pivot on June 21.
