In a move that’s sure to set the world’s think-piece factories abuzzing, Disney’s latest trailer for Zootopia reveals the film will center on the difficulties of being a bunny in the workplace. Surely, this seems to be an extended metaphor for casual sexism, given that Ginnifer Goodwin’s bunny is also the only female animal in the ridiculously macho animal police academy, but it could be a metaphor for other things! Like the difficulties of being an extrovert, or an optimist, or someone who eats carrots all the time and has eerily good eyesight. Metaphors are fun that way.
For a funnier trailer with less context, check out Disney’s first official trailer (below), in which we see the animals in their natural habitat, reminiscent of BoJack Horseman’s — just with fewer humans and slightly more existential frustration. That’s thanks, mainly, to the sloths:
And then, if you want even less context, and just a reminder of all those uncomfortable feelings you had after watching Disney’s Robin Hood and realizing you were crushing on an animated fox, watch the original, nearly context-free teaser:
Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Shakira, Idris Elba, J.K. Simmons, Jenny Slate, and Octavia Spencer, among a slew of others, are aboard the star-studded film, which hits theaters on March 4 with 3-D screenings and camel jokes.
