Jimmy Fallon Explains His Recent Finger Injury on ‘The Tonight Show’

A little over two weeks ago, the Tonight Show taping was canceled due to Jimmy Fallon mysteriously injuring his hand. The show returned with its first new episode last night, and Fallon explained the whole ordeal, which involved a case of “ring avulsion,� six-hour microsurgery on his finger, ten days in the ICU, and loss of feeling in his finger for the next six weeks. And as if that wasn’t enough, Higgins was also out of commission with Lyme disease. Fallon did find some silver linings during the whole experience, though – he got to learn about the true meaning of life, plus, in his own words, “I should say the fall was funny.�
