Lena Dunham is getting into the newsletter business. The Cut reports that Dunham and Girls showrunner Jenni Konner are launching a self-funded, biweekly email newsletter called Lenny, which will target millennial women with advice, essays, and product recommendations. According to the mission statement, “Lenny is your over sharing Internet friend who will yell at you about your finances, help you choose a bathing suit, lamp, president … AND tell you what to do if you need an abortion.†Alongside former Jezebel and Slate writer Jessica Grose, Dunham and Konner will publish articles on “feminism, style, health, politics, friendship and everything else†as well as contributions from outside writers. Dunham told The Cut that Lenny won’t just be “straight, white cisgender women†– “We’re not making any assumptions about your identity. We’re making the assumption that you’re passionate and you care about other people’s emotions and style and you just want to live a more connected life.†The newsletter will launch sometime this fall, and you can sign up here.
