Sunday night, the head-scratching trio of Gina Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Josh Peck handed out surfboards to all your 15-year-old’s faves at this year’s Teen Choice Awards. Gabby Sidibe twerked with Empire, YouTube stars gained 15 million more subscribers, and someone finally named Britney Spears a style icon. But the night’s best moment belonged to the cast of Furious 7, who owned the night with four awards, including Choice Movie: Action/Adventure, Best Movie Actor for Paul Walker, and Choice Song From a Movie or TV Show for Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again.†While accepting Choice Movie, it wasn’t just Vin Diesel who got choked up: Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez each took turns fighting back the tears as they honored their late co-star. Paul’s teen daughter, Meadow Walker, was in the audience (though the camera respectfully didn’t pan to her). As if Vin affectionately referring to Paul as “Pablo, our brother†wasn’t enough to trigger the waterworks.
