Jennifer Lawrence, who is having a big year, and also a big life, just had a big day. As The Hollywood Reporter reported, the actress has dropped out of The Rosie Project, the next film from Boyhood director Richard Linklater. That movie, a romantic dramedy, is an adaptation of the 2014 novel by Graeme Simsion.
According to Variety, Lawrence is now in talks to star in an untitled indie film by Darren Aronofsky. His last film was 2014’s Noah, a biblical epic with an all-white cast. Aronofsky’s last female-led film, however, was 2010’s Black Swan. It received five Oscar nominations, including Best Director and Best Picture, and a Best Actress win for star Natalie Portman.
You go ahead and get that second Oscar, J.Law.
Update: First the leading lady, now the director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Richard Linklater has dropped out of The Rosie Project due to Lawrence’s departure, who was apparently the primary reason he signed on to the project in the first place. If you think you’re having a bad week, just think of Sony. Yikes!
