Any sliver of detail regarding the J.K. Rowling–penned cinematic adaption of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has been shrouded under lock and key, but in this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, we finally have our first look at the film’s premise. According to EW, the Jazz Age–set plot will center around eccentric magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he arrives in New York with his trusty and magical weathered case in tow. The case is “bigger on the inside†(how very Whovian) and contains a seemingly boundless habitat for rare and endangered magical creatures from Newt’s worldly travels. While in America, he discovers that the wizarding community is simply fearful of being exposed to the public, and what ensues is the tale of the American misadventures of an English wizard and his mythical creatures. Those pesky No-Majs! Why can’t they be more accepting?
