In a statement, AMBI’s Monika Bacardi swore the remake would be just as good as “the original†Memento, which is a thing we all have to say now. The purchase gave AMBI remake rights for 400 films, including Sliding Doors, Cruel Intentions, and Donnie Darko. The Italian film company gained the rights to Christopher Nolan’s backwards thriller when it bought the Exclusive Media Group library in September. Hollywood’s reboot cycle got a little bit shorter today, as AMBI Pictures announced that it was developing a remake of Memento, a movie that, if it were a person, would just be starting tenth grade.Â
