On Tuesday, footage of Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke fatally shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald in October 2014 was released to the public just hours after Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder. That night, hundreds of people marched in downtown Chicago to protest the murder of the black teen. One of those protesters included Vic Mensa, the Chicago rapper signed to Jay Z’s label, Roc Nation. In a video from the march, Mensa says he “just got hands put on me by police†and “we want justice for Laquan and we want justice for our people.â€
