Here’s a clip of Adam McKay’s interview from last night’s Late Show, where he and Stephen Colbert talk about their scrappy Chicago improv days in the ‘90s when they were totally broke, though McKay did find a way to score free pizza thanks to his prank calling skills. He also looked back on the time he staged his own suicide for an old UCB show as well as the time he prank called the Philadelphia Phillies when he was a high college student and attempted to make a trade with the team’s manager. “I always say the lowest paying job in America is improviser, right underneath poet and person who makes no attempt to have a job,†McKay said. Thankfully, his improv and prank call skills led to a career that’s at least a couple steps further up the ladder.
