Michelle Yeoh returns in Netflix’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, formerly Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, alongside Harry Shum Jr., Donnie Yen, and a whole lot of incredibly skilled stunt people. Based on the film’s new trailer, the sequel, directed by Woo-Ping Yuen, promises to be an action-packed adventure with the same gravity-defying visuals as its Oscar-winning 2000 predecessor. They still do not show the dragon, though. I’m assuming it’s still hidden? I only bring it up because the characters don’t even really seem to be looking for the dragon at any point? It could be behind that temple they’re sword-fighting on, for example. They didn’t show the dragon in the first movie, so they pretty much have to show him or her in this movie. Don’t promise me a hidden dragon and then not let me see a dragon! Chekhov’s hidden dragon over here.Â
