Since leaving The Daily Show, Jon Stewart has been working hard to spread awareness about the Zadroga Act, which paid for the healthcare of first responders who got cancer and other diseases while saving others on the day of the September 11th attacks. Since the law expired in September, Stewart accompanied a group of first responders in an attempt to “hand-deliver shame†to a bunch of Senators who once tweeted they’d never forget them despite not signing on to renew the Zadroga Act, and he shared the underwhelming response he got from the Senators (or in most cases, their assistants) during last night’s Daily Show.
