[Spoiler alert: If you haven’t watched last night’s season-nine finale, what are you doing? Stop.]
Turns out there were two winners from Tuesday night’s star-studded finale of The Voice. Let’s start with the technical one: After having whittled the finalists down to four, the results had Team Gwen’s Jeffery Austin taking fourth, and Blake’s Barrett Baber and Emily Ann Roberts third and second, respectively. Jordan Smith (Team Adam), long considered the favorite, grabbed his trophy (for maybe two seconds) and sang “Climb Every Mountain†in celebration:
Prior to the coronation, the ninth season’s conclusion also featured a star-studded lineup of performances from the likes of Justin Bieber, the Weeknd, and Coldplay. The other (unofficial) winner, though, was Missy Elliott, who made her “WTF†TV debut with Pharrell. Yep, puppets included, so you know it was fire round two:
