THR reports Jennifer Lawrence, who now officially has a knack for playing real-life women, will next take a turn as Fidel Castro’s real-life former lover and almost femme fatale, Marita Lorenz. The role will probably earn Jane Bond comparisons for J.Law and Sony as part of the aptly titled biopic Marita, which reportedly focuses on how a 19-year-old Lorenz met and became romantically involved with the Cuban leader, before later helping the CIA with his covert assassination attempt. The true spy story was pitched by writer Eric Warren Singer (American Hustle) and will be produced by Lawrence, Matt Tolmach, Scott Mednick, and André Rouleau. (Curious about Marita, by the way? Cool, she’s written not one, but two autobiographies about this very story.) No real logistical or other personnel details have been announced yet, but THR notes Cuba is a potential shooting location, so pray J.Law also gets cast in Fast 8 because schedules are fun.
