Of course TV relationships aren’t real! That’s why we all treat them with an appropriate level of cool reserve. In case you missed it, The Office’s Jenna Fischer recently visited Watch What Happens Live and talked about her working relationship with former co-star John Krasinski. “There’s like a real part of me that is Pam, and a real part of him that’s Jim. And those parts of us were genuinely in love with one another,†she claimed. In case you interpreted that statement to mean the two had actual feelings for one another, grow up and read a book already. “I think that was wildly misquoted or taken out of context,†John Krasinski, the man you’ll always think of as Jim Halpert, no matter how buff he gets, told the Daily Beast. “I’m sure she was trying to say something nice about how genuine the acting relationship was, of bringing a relationship that became that popular onscreen — and I think we both feel it’s such an honor to be a part of that relationship. As far as how she was quoted about saying we were ‘genuinely in love,’ I think that was taken wildly out of context and I feel bad for her.†It should be obvious that Jenna Fischer did not mean the two were literally in love during filming. We know this because TV is just a box full of circuits; there’s a difference between the actor and the character, and it’s not right to form emotional attachments to fictional romances like this, we keep telling ourselves.
