The 2016 Golden Globes aired last night with returning host Ricky Gervais, and when it comes to the comedy categories, the winners were split between newcomers (Rachel Bloom won for Best Actress in a TV Comedy, Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle won Best TV Comedy) and winners who seemed more like drama category overflow than anything (Jennifer Lawrence for Joy and Matt Damon for The Martian, which also won Best Motion Picture - Comedy against The Big Short, Joy, Spy, and Trainwreck).
