NBC recently ordered a round of new comedy pilots, including new projects from Amy Poehler, Charlie Grandy, and Rashida Jones. According to Deadline, the network has ordered an untitled comedy about a royal family by Charlie Grandy produced by Amy Poehler, a procedural comedy by Jeff Astrof and Matt Miller called The Trail, and a multi-cam ensemble comedy by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack called Good Fortune.
Poehler and Grandy’s pilot will center on a “reluctant Crown Prince†who, “after years of partying that earned him the ‘black sheep’ label, returns home to compete with his brother for the family throne.†The Trail will take on a serialized format in the style of The Jinx and center on “a young big-city lawyer and his oddball defense team during a high profile murder trial in a small southern town.†Jones and McCormack’s Good Fortune is written by How I Met Your Mother’s Matt Zinman and Craig Gerard and centers on “a hyper-structured young woman whose life is upended when she starts taking advice from a mysterious fortune teller.â€
