With New York Fashion Week on the horizon and the men’s shows nearly closed, it’s time for the Cut’s seasonal feature “One Word, One Shot.” We asked 207 designers to explain their spring 2016 inspiration in one phrase and one image. This time around, Jeremy Scott looked to Nickelodeon and BCBG chose break-dancers. Hood by Air found a creative wellspring in foggy streets, Tracy Reese drew inspiration from Detroit, and Zero + Maria Cornejo presented some thrillingly barren rocks.
