Adele had her most human performance at the Grammys on Monday night, but throughout, it was clear that there were technical issues: One of the mics fell onto the piano strings. “I heard it straight away. I knew what it was,†Adele says to Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday’s episode of Ellen. “I knew where the mic was, and I wanted to turn around and lift it up, but I froze.†Instead, she soldiered on and delivered a performance that mere mortals still wouldn’t be able to match on their best karaoke day. Still, Adele had a pretty rough go of it the morning after. “I cried pretty much all day yesterday. But the thing is, in fairness, I would have cried if it went really well as well,†she said. “I kept spontaneously bursting into tears yesterday.â€
Adele may  have entered the crevasse, but she emerged from the other side chiller than ever. “I don’t feel like it could go that much worse than the Grammys, though, so I feel like I’m all right now. Anything that happens is like, Dust it off,†she said. “Next time I have any sound issues, I am going to stop. Sorry, that’s not working for me. If we have time to do it again, let’s do it. Otherwise, bye.†Adele, the true inheritor of Divas Live.
