Disney’s Mary Poppins sequel (which is emphatically not a remake) may have found its lead, as Variety reports that Emily Blunt is in talks for the role. The Sicario star previously worked with director Rob Marshall and producers John DeLuca and Marc Platt on Into the Woods, where she also showed off the singing voice that presumably made her the prime choice to step into the nanny’s iconic handbag. Nothing is confirmed yet, but our sources say discussions are hinging on just how many spoonfuls of sugar will make the medicine go down.
