After providing capable comic relief for Jurassic World, Jake Johnson will bring his everyman charm to Universal’s reboot of The Mummy, THR reports. The role was reportedly written specifically for Johnson, confirming his status as Hollywood’s favorite dude to make jokes in between CGI explosions. He’ll play a member of the military in the film, which is set in the modern day. Tom Cruise is set to star, with Kingsman actress Sofia Boutella in talks to take on the title role. It’s unknown whether Johnson will end up in an adorable will-they-or-won’t-they relationship with the female mummy.
