At the 2016 Nashville Equality Dinner Last Night, Kesha received the Human Rights Campaign’s Visibility Award. “As many of you know I am going through some personal things that have been really intense and hard lately, and I just want to say thank you for any support I have received,†Kesha said amid tears while receiving the award. During the rest of her speech (see below), the singer focused on her experience as a misfit, growing up outside Nashville, and the “strange and unnatural†experience of fame. Kesha recently lost a bid for an injunction break her contract with Dr. Luke, who, according to Kesha, sexually abused her during the time that they worked together.
