SNL alum and famous Canadian Mike Myers is set to publish his first book this year. According to CBC, Myers has signed on to write an illustrated book, which will be available later this fall through Doubleday Canada. The untitled book is described as “part memoir, part history and complete entertainment†and “will offer the comic’s personal take on Canada, including images from Myers’ own archive.†Here’s what Myers had to say on the news:
“I’m an actor, producer and writer, but no description of me is complete without saying I’m a Canadian. In 1967, Canada turned 100. Canadians all across the country made Centennial projects. This book is my Centennial Project. I’m handing it in a little late…..sorry.â€
And here’s more on the book from the official press release:
In his new book, Mike Myers will present his heartfelt and hilarious view of the country’s past, present and future as he sets out to define the Canadian mystique. A true patriot who happens to be an expatriate, Myers is in a unique position to explore Canada from within and without. He will show what makes Canada Canada, Canadians Canadians, and what being Canadian has always meant to him.
