Robert De Niro is nothing if not a Method actor. When he was in Dirty Grandpa, he was a dirty grandfather. When he was in Meet the Fockers, he met Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand. When he was in Shark Tale, he transformed his body into that of a cartoon shark. Now, De Niro is taking the stage at the Village Underground on Tuesday to undergo his transformation into a disgruntled stand-up. The evening will be filmed for his upcoming film The Comedian, in which he plays an aging insult comic. De Niro’s set will be written by longtime Comedy Central–roast master Jeff Ross, which means whoever is sitting in the front row is about to experience the sick New York humiliation fantasy of their dreams. You lucky bastards.
