Famous and fresh out of anecdotes, Steve Martin has a new song about what it’s like to be famous and fresh out of anecdotes. It came about because, over the years, late-night hosts have made the comedy legend use up most of his good material. Or so he says. That’s what happens when you’re famous for so long, and that’s why Martin’s employing the above solution: to avoid the staged small talk, current-event questions, and pesky anecdote requests that might come during a Jimmy Fallon appearance. (It’s also because he co-created a new musical, Bright Star, that’s in previews right now.) Commiserate and enjoy accordingly.
