Alec Baldwin to Host a ‘Match Game’ Revival at ABC

ABC is bringing back Match Game, and they’ve got the best Charles Nelson Reilly impersonator attached to host. According to Vulture, a 10-episode revival of the ‘70s panel game show is officially in the works at the network, and Alec Baldwin has signed on to host and executive produce. The hourlong episodes will air Sunday nights at 10:00pm this summer along with Celebrity Family Feud and The $100,000 Pyramid as part of a three-hour summer game show block ABC’s calling “Sunday Fun & Games.†Here’s more on the revival from Vulture:

Like the original, ABC’s Match Game will lean heavily on laughs: The show’s format will feature civilian contestants trying to guess how a panel of six celebrities will answer comedically tinged fill-in-the-blank questions. Baldwin, taking control of the skinny microphone long held by original host Gene Rayburn, will serve as the (usually) straight man to a collection of celebrity cut-ups.

And for good measure, here’s a clip of Baldwin’s fantastic impersonation of original Match Game staple Charles Nelson Reilly:
