Kicking off his One on One tour in Fresno, California, last night, Sir Paul McCartney performed a career-spanning mélange of songs (38 of them!), from his timeless Beatles catalogue to his recent collaboration with Kanye West and Rihanna. One song managed to stand out, though — Macca opened with the infectious classic “A Hard Day’s Night,†which, as reported by Rolling Stone, he hasn’t performed live since the Beatles played the Daly City Cow Palace in San Francisco in August 1965. Also exceptional: He played “Love Me Do†— the Liverpool quartet’s very first single — for the first time in over 50 years. Cue the harmonica.
