Will Ferrell to Star in Buddy Comedy by ‘Neighbors’ Writer Brendan O’Brien

Will Ferrell has another movie in the works. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neighbors co-writer Brendan O’Brien is writing a buddy comedy for Universal about “an escaped convict who teams up with an unlikely partner to stop his girlfriend from getting married.� Ferrell is attached to star as the “unlikely partner� in the untitled project and produce alongside Adam McKay, but his costar has not yet been cast. Ferrell has several buddy comedies in the works including The House with Amy Poehler (which O’Brien also co-wrote), a border control comedy with John C. Reilly, and another film based on Guy Lawson’s New York Times Magazine article “Ice Pack: An Insurance Salesman and a Doctor Walk Into a Bar, and End Up at the North Pole.�
