Anne Hathaway will be headlining the film adaptation of Grounded, based on the acclaimed dramatic play by George Brant. As first reported in Variety, the film will follow the life of an American Air Force pilot whose career is sidetracked when, after an unexpected pregnancy, she’s tasked with operating an unmanned military drone from a windowless trailer in the Nevada desert. Hathaway first became familiar with the material last year when she starred in Grounded’s well-reviewed production at the Public Theater in New York, and apparently became so enthusiastic that “she locked up the film rights before her first performance.†Perhaps Muse will provide the soundtrack.
