All things go, but they don’t always go quietly. Late last year, Nicki Minaj’s ex-fiancé Safaree Samuels (and subject of most 2014’s The Pinkprint) threatened to sue his famous ex for unpaid royalties. It now appears he’s followed through with that suit, and it’s as ugly as everyone assumed. On Tuesday night, Nicki announced via tweetstorm that she was served with a lawsuit just days after celebrating the birthday of the new love of her life, Meek Mill. She says Samuels is claiming in his lawsuit that Minaj emotionally and physically abused him, which she denies. She proceeded to countersue him in the court of Twitter, accusing Samuels of stealing money from her, extortion, and harassing her via email, despite being warned by both her and Meek Mill to stop. She has threatened to leak those emails and calls Samuels a “miserable son of a bitch,†whom she has previously burned on Twitter following his attempted diss track.
Update: Safaree Samuels’s reps have issued a statement, via the Fader, in response to Nicki’s tweets:
“Initially things were being handled privately behind the scenes but it was taken to social media and unfortunately its now being played out in the public eye which could easily be interpreted as a cry for attention. Safaree will not continue in any more social media feuds and at this time we are unable to comment or provide any details pertaining to the current legal proceedings that are taking place with Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj. We are confident that things will be both favorable and amicable for all parties.â€
