The Best Beauty at the BET Awards

At the BET Awards last night, Alicia Keys made good on her promise to stop covering up and walked the red carpet makeup-free. But she was an outlier on a red carpet that swelled with bright lips, towering hairdos, and lashes that defied the limits of gravity.
Makeup artist Jamie Greenberg painted an electric-pink lip on Tracee Ellis Ross for her opening look, while hairstylist Araxi Lindsey diffused Ross’s wet curls into slicked-back waves. Beyoncé out Beyoncé-d herself with a ‘90s brown lip that withstood the test of sweat, water, and “Freedom” lyrics, and Janelle Monáe doubled-down on her signature red lip.
