In case the massive cast list for the Twin Peaks revival wasn’t proof enough that everyone wants to work with David Lynch, the lineup for the director’s two-day Festival of Disruption is equally impressive. The tunes are coming from indie rockers and DJs that include St. Vincent, Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters, Twin Peaks soundtrack composer Angelo Badalamenti, Questlove, and Sky Ferreira (who is also slated to appear in the aforementioned Twin Peaks revival). Meanwhile, you can also hear some enlightening speeches from speakers like Mel Brooks, Blondie’s Debbie Harry, and architect Frank Gehry, or check out films, dance pieces, and photography exhibits. The festival will benefit the David Lynch Foundation, a charity that teaches transcendental meditation (a subject Lynch feels as passionately about as Log Lady feels about her log) to at-risk populations, including army vets and prison inmates, who could benefit most from relaxation and calming thoughts. The festival is on October 8 and 9 in Los Angeles and tickets go on sale this Friday.Â
